Thoughts and review of the novel.
As a warning there are spoilers ahead. Star Wars Heir to the Empire is a superb book. the characters in this book seem very developed and stick to the same characteristics that we were left off with in the original trilogy. Each person feel consistent as well throughout the book, they do not feel inconsistent and poorly thought out. You also see the return of many famous characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Lando Calrissian, and Princes Liea. The people and characters brought back from the original trilogy have the same feel and characteristics to the. It feels like George Lucas himself wrote the characters into the book. As you read the book there are few cliches. This makes for the book to be interesting and have a bit of a different feel than most Star Wars movies. The takes you across the galaxy to brand new places in the Star Wars Universe. The book starts right of with you put in the middle of the action or the beginning of a battle, though it is short. You then learn more about the new characters you are introduced to. You also learn about some of the things that took place between Return of the Jedi and this book. This created a better understanding of the characters and their choices throughout the book. It also builds a connection with those characters. The story from what happened prior to current events are revealed as well as a development of the current story. It also mixes a bit of mystery to the book as well with a new character called Mara Jade. My life is well connected to the book, particularly because I am a very big Star Wars fan myself. First is that I have watched the movies so much i already had an emotional connection with the characters. Not one character felt out of place during all the movies besides maybe Jar Jar Binks. I also connected with the part where Han Solo and Lando Calrissian's plan didn't go according to plan but worked out. I related to that part of the book because I am a massive procrastinator and those kinds of situations have happened to me. Even though I did not have as much stress or in as much danger as them. Over all the book was great, it had many twists and turns while keeping the same old Star Wars feel.
